The Ashram sound features a dialogue between traditional-spiritual Indian songs and Electronic sample, loop, drones based soundscape. A sound that describes modern India the best, where tradition and modernism walk hand in hand, traditional India is shaking hand with modern India. The concert will showcase a fusion of folk/root music of the soil fused with modern sound, electronica and musical expressions.A face of new India sound, Ashram is one of the first bands from east of India to fuse electronica with Indian traditional root-tribal-ethnic tunes/songs. Ashram songs will take you into a travel through Indian subcontinent, bringing tunes from boatmen, nomadic tribes, Sufi saints, farmers to celebration of common people's lives. Formed in Kolkata, Ashram played in quite some major Indian venues. Among them, Green Peace India concert-Kolkata and a Hard Rock Cafe tour are notable.

Kanishka, the founder, is one of the key persons to start vernacular pop-rock music in India/Kolkata, with nearly 20yrs of experience in music production. Having played more than 2000 live gigs, he plays the Ashram host where musicians from different styles, genres and ethnic groups come, collaborate and share their music. Kanishka is now based in Berlin and began Ashram's European life, the band has already toured in UK, France, Cz Republic and Germany for a number of concerts

Arko Mukhaerjee, a trained North Indian classical singer and an urban folk artist from Calcutta, has been researching on the roots of Indian and Bengali folk and contemporary music. His high tenor and natural husk is unique to the subcontinental world music scene. Formally trained in Indian classical music from his parents, Arko is equally versatile with European, African, Middle – eastern, American and Indian folk songs along with blues, soul and several tribal music forms from India and Bengal. He sings in more than 15 different languages and has been travelling all over Europe, collaborating with several other musicians in France, England and Germany and has played in eminent music festivals in Europe. During his time in France for the past 4 years, Arko has been playing with French folk and gypsy jazz musicians and African traditional artists. As a result of his love and passion for the blues, he is one of the very few Indian artists to have been programmed for blues festivals in France. He has also been extensively touring in England and East Europe with his ethno electronic musical collaboration Ashram.

Der Sound von Ashram ist ein Dialog zwischen traditionell-spirituellen indischen Liedern und elektronischen Sound-, Loop- und Drohnen-Sounds. Ein Sound, der das moderne Indien wiedergibt, in dem Tradition und Moderne Hand in Hand gehen, das traditionelle dem modernen Indien die Hand schüttelt. Das Konzert mischt Folk / Root-Musik mit modernem Sound.Ashram ist eine der ersten Bands aus dem Osten Indiens, die elektronische mit traditionellen indischen und ethnischen Klängen verbindet. Die Ashram-Songs werden Sie auf eine Reise durch den indischen Subkontinent mitnehmen, mit Liedern von Bootsleuten, Nomadenstämmen, Sufi-Heiligen und Bauern, um das Leben der Menschen zu feiern. In Kolkata gegründet, spielte Ashram an einigen wichtigen indischen Orten. Unter ihnen sind das Green Peace India - Konzert in Kolkata und eine Hard Rock Cafe-Tour erwähnenswert.

Kanishka, der Gründer, ist eine der Schlüsselpersonen der Pop-Rock-Musik in Indien / Kolkata mit fast 20 Jahren Erfahrung in der Musikproduktion. Kanishka ist heute in Berlin ansässig, von hier tourte die Band bereits mehrmals für Konzerte in Großbritannien, Frankreich, der Tschechischen Republik und Deutschland.

Arko Mukhaerjee, ein ausgebildeter nordindischer klassischer Sänger und ein städtischer Volkskünstler aus Kalkutta, erforschte die Wurzeln der indischen und bengalischen Volksmusik und der zeitgenössischen Musik. Sein hoher Tenor und seine natürliche Erscheinung sind einzigartig in der subkontinentalen Weltmusikszene. Arko wurde von seinen Eltern in klassischer indischer Musik ausgebildet und ist ebenso versiert mit europäischen, afrikanischen, nahöstlichen, amerikanischen und indischen Volksliedern sowie Blues, Soul und verschiedenen Stammesmusikformen aus Indien und Bengalen. Er singt in mehr als 15 verschiedenen Sprachen und ist durch ganz Europa gereist, hat mit mehreren Musikern in Frankreich, England und Deutschland zusammengearbeitet und an bedeutenden Musikfestivals in Europa teilgenommen. Während seiner letzten vier Jahre spielte Arko mit französischen Folk- und Zigeunermusikern sowie mit traditionellen afrikanischen Künstlern. Aufgrund seiner Liebe und Leidenschaft für den Blues ist er einer der wenigen indischen Künstler, die für Bluesfestivals in Frankreich eingeladen wurden. Mit seiner ethno-elektronischen Musikkooperation Ashram tourte er ausgiebig in England und Osteuropa
