Pandit Ranajit Sengupta is one of the best Sarode Player & Music Composer from India having performed around the world for last 20 years representing his country. He is a student of late Ustad Dhyanesh Khan & Ustad Aashish Khan of Maihar Senia Gharana & attended several workshops by Late Dr. Ustad Ali Akbar Khan in India & California. He is one of the youngest TOP Grade Sarode Player from All India Radio & Television & winner of "Presidents' award for securing First position in All India Radio Competition, Acharya Baba Allauddin Memorial Award,Pandit Nikhil Bannerjee Memorial Award & "Best talent of the Year" award by HMV to name a few. He is a topper in both Graduation & Master's Exam from Rabindra Bharati University,Kolkata & is a Guest Lecturer in Universities in USA, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, England & India. He has performed in Major Music Festivals & Venues in more than 30 Countries in America, Europe, Africa and Asia. He has over 30 CD & DVD releases from around the world. Ranajit has composed Music for the Dutch Feature Film "Dark Amsterdam", the Title Music for the International Film Festival, Kolkata in 1994 & the music for the Road Movie "Lost & Found Tour" filmed about himself & 3 other Austrian Musicians. Ranajit is currently the Principal Composer, guest conductor & Guru for the National Youth Orchestra for Indian Music in England. Ranajit has been a "Fellow of the Ministry of Culture" and is an Artiste empaneled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)

The concert will begin with a short Indian classical Raga followed by compositions featuring all the five musicians.

Pandit Ranajit Sengupta ist einer der besten Sarode-Spieler und Musik-Komponisten aus Indien, die Indien in den letzten 20 Jahren weltweit vertreten. Er ist ein Schüler von Ustad Dhyanesh Khan & Ustad Aashish Khan (Maihar Senia Gharana) und besuchte mehrere Workshops von Dr. Ustad Ali Akbar Khan in Indien und in Kalifornien. Er ist einer der jüngsten TOP Grade Sarode Spieler von All India Radio & Fernsehen und Träger des President-Awards für seine Spitzenposition beim All India Radio Wettbewerb, des Acharya Baba Allauddin Memorial Awards, und des Pandit Nikhil Bannerjee Memorial Awards. Er schloss sein Master's Examen an der Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata mit Auszeichnung ab und ist Gastdozent an Universitäten in den USA, Kanada, Deutschland, der Schweiz, England und Indien.

Ranajit gab Konzerte auf großen Musik- Festivals in mehr als 30 Ländern in Amerika, Europa, Afrika und Asien. Er hat mehr als 30 CD’s und DVD‘s weltweit veröffentlicht und hat die Musik für den niederländischen Spielfilm "Dark Amsterdam", die Titelmusik für das Internationale Filmfestival, Kolkata 1994 und die Musik für das Road-Movie "Lost & Found Tour" eingespielt Ranajit ist derzeit Principal Composer, Gastdirigent & Guru für das Nationale Jugendorchester für indische Musik in England. Er ist ein "Fellow des Ministeriums für Kultur" und ist ein Künstler des Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

Das Konzert beginnt mit einem kurzen indischen klassischen Raga, gefolgt von Kompositionen mit allen fünf Musikern.
