Bipula Taranga

Changing Seasons….unveil the infinite beauty of nature. This manifestation of Divine Grace that permeates the whole Universe and fills us with a sense of awe.

Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore has composed innumerable songs on the changing facets of nature with the onset of each season. Bipula Taranga is a bouquet of songs set to the lyrics of Tagore depicting the changing face of nature from the joyous Spring through the hot, life sapping Summer to the dancing rhythms of the monsoon – the life-giving Rain. Bipula Taranga is a celebration of the six different seasons that India is privileged to experience, through the eyes of this Great poet of all times. 

	Sudokshina Manna-Chatterjee started formally learning Hindusthani classical vocal at the tender age of 6. She was under the tutelage of Sri Sachin Basu and Sri Biresh Roy of Kirana gharana. What groomed her into a perfect singer is her sixteen years of intense training under Vidushi Sanjukta Ghosh of Kasur-Patiala Gharana. Sudokshina acquired her graduation in English Literature from Calcutta University after which she completed her Master degree in Music from Rabindra Bharati University Kolkata. She is a part time lecturer of Hindustani music in a reputed college of Kolkata. She also is credited with a number of workshops and lecture demonstrations within India and overseas. Sudokshina received National Scholarship from the Indian Ministry of Human Resource development in the year 1998. In 2008 Sudokshina was nominated for the Sangeet Natak Academy Yuva Award in the field of Hindustani Classical Vocal Music. Apart from performing in India, Sudokshina has toured in Europe and Middle east countries. She got the rare opportunity of performing in the Tagore Centre Auditorium of Indian Embassy, Berlin, as well as in Nehru Centre, London.
	Sohini Debnath has been under the able guidance of renowned Kathak exponent and Guru Smt. Rani Karnaa (Nayak). She has also received primary training in Odissi and Hindustani Classical Music. A graduate in Geography from Presidency College, Kolkata she completed her master’s degree in Kathak from Rabindra Bharati University. A Grade-A solo artiste with the Doordarshan Kendra, Sohini has won numerous awards including Gold Medals at the Doverlane Music Conference, State Music Academy and the Governors Gold Medal at the East Zonal Competition organized by EZCC. She is the recipient of the National Scholarship for Dance from the Govt. of India and is empanelled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations; ICCR, New Delhi and Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi. Sohini regularly tours different parts of Europe for solo Kathak performances. She performed across India as a solo dancer and also with her Guru Smt Rani Karnaa participating for numerous institutions/organizations and festivals.
	A disciple of great Tabla maestro none other than Pandit Shankar Ghosh, Subrata Manna took initial training from Late Sri Sunil Bhattacharya of Benaras Gharana at the age of eight. Subrata also has been receiving  training of Karnatic tala system under the guidance of eminent Miridangam maestro Pandit S.Sekhar. Subrata is an M.A in Percussion music from Rabindra Bhararti University, Kolkata. He is an ‘A’ grade artist of All Radio and Television. He has been playing all over in India and abroad in many prestigious concerts and conferences and festivals successfully.

Wechselnde Jahreszeiten ... enthüllen die unendliche Schönheit der Natur. Diese Manifestation der göttlichen Gnade, die das ganze Universum durchdringt und uns mit einem Gefühl der Ehrfurcht erfüllt. Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore hat unzählige Lieder über die sich verändernden Facetten der Natur mit dem Beginn jeder Saison komponiert. Bipula Taranga ist ein Bouquet von Liedern mit Texten von Tagore. Sie beschreiben das sich ändernde Gesicht der Natur - vom fröhlichen Frühling durch den heißen, lebensstarken Sommer hin zu den tanzenden Rhythmen des Monsuns - dem lebensspendenden Regen. Bipula Taranga zelebriert die sechs verschiedenen Jahreszeiten in Indien durch die Augen dieses großen Dichters aller Zeiten.

Sudokshina Manna-Chatterjee begann klassischen nordindischen Gesang unter Sri Sachin Basu und Sri Biresh Roy von der Kirana Gharana (Schule) zu lernen. Ihr langjähriges intensives Gesangstraining bei Vidushi Sanjukta Ghosh von der Kasur-Patiala Gharana ließ sie zu einer perfekt ausgebildeten Sängerin werden. Sudokshina erwarb einen Abschluss in englischer Literatur an der Kalkutta - Universität, danach einen Master-Abschluss in Musik an der Rabindra Bharati Universität in Kolkata. Sie ist Teilzeitlehrerin der Hindustani Musik in einer renommierten Universität von Kolkata. Sudokshina erhielt ein Nationales Stipendium vom indischen Ministerium für Personalentwicklung im Jahr 1998. Im Jahr 2008 wurde sie für den Sangeet Natak Academy Yuva Award nominiert. Abgesehen von Konzerten in Indien, ist Sudokshina in Europa und im Mittleren Osten aufgetreten. Sie hatte die seltene Gelegenheit, im Tagore Centre - Auditorium der Indischen Botschaft in Berlin sowie im Nehru Center in London zu spielen.

Sohini Debnath erlernte den Kathak-Tanz unter dem renommierten Kathak-Exponenten Guru Smt. Rani Karnaa (Nayak). Daneben erhielt sie eine Grundausbildung in Odissi und in klassischer nordindischer Musik. Sie ist Geographie- Absolventin des Presidency College in Kolkata und erlangte ihren Master-Abschluss in Kathak an der Rabindra Bharati University. Als Solo-Künstlerin des Doordarshan Kendra hat Sohini zahlreiche Auszeichnungen gewonnen, darunter Goldmedaillen bei der Doverlane Music Conference, der State Music Academy und der Governors Gold Medaille bei der East Zonal Competition von EZCC organisiert. Sie erhielt ein Stipendium für den Tanz von der Regierung Indiens und ist beim ICCR, New Delhi gelistet. Sohini organisiert regelmäßig Solo-Kathak-Auftritte in Europa. In Indien tritt sie als Solotänzerin und auch mit ihrem Guru Smt Rani Karnaa auf.

Als Schüler des großen Tabla-Maestros Pandit Shankar Ghosh begann Subrata Manna im Alter von acht Jahren die Tabla-Ausbildung bei Late Sri Sunil Bhattacharya (Benaras Gharana). Er erhielt auch eine Ausbildung in südindischer Rhythmik (Karnatic Tala System) von Miridangam-Maestro Pandit S. Sekhar. Subrata erhielt sein M.A in Percussion Musik an der Rabindra Bhararti Universität, Kolkata und ist ein "A" Grade Künstler von All Radio und Fernsehen. Er spielt in Indien und im Ausland auf vielen Konzerten, Konferenzen und Festivals.
