Sitar is a stringed instrument of the lute family that is popular in northern India. The word sitar is derived from the Persian word sehtar, meaning ‘three stringed’. Today it is the dominant instrument in Hindustani music as solo instrument, with tabla and in ensembles. Worldwide, the instrument has become the best known Indian string instrument – since the 1960s, the sitar has influenced a number of rock performers like George Harrison.

Supratik Sen Gupta was born in Kolkata and got his initial training from Sri Kuber Sen Gupta. His formal training was under Sri Biswanath Das and Pt. Debaprasad Chakraborty, later he trained with Sangeetacharya Late Ajoy Sinha Roy and Dr. Pradeep Chakraborty. Supratik joined ITC Sangeet Research Academy in the year 2001 under the tutelage of Padmabhushan Pandit Buddhadeb Das Gupta and Partha Pratim Chatterjee. Supratik stood first in many prestigious music competitions and was conferred the Best Instrumentalist Prize from “The Dover Lane Music Conference”, Prasun Banerjee Memorial Award and Pandit Gokul Nag Memorial Award”. He got National Scholarship of "Ministry Of Tourism & Culture, Govt. Of India”.

Supratik participated in many major Music Conferences all over India and in Europe. He is an “A” Grade Artist of All India Radio and Television, Kolkata and an empanelled artist of ICCR, New Delhi.

Angshubha Banerjee is a brilliant Tabla player from Kolkata, known for his distinctive style of Tabla playing. He learned Tabla from Late Ustad Keramatullaha Khan and Pandit Gobinda Bose. Angshubha has the privilege of accompanying number of great Indian classical musicians, such as Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta, Pandit V. Balsara, Ustad Ikbal Ahamed Khan or Shri Parthosarothy.

Die Sitar ist ein Saiteninstrument der in Nordindien beliebten Lautenfamilie. Das Wort Sitar leitet sich vom persischen Wort Sehtar ab und bedeutet "drei Saiten". Heute ist es das dominierende Instrument in der nordindischen Hindustani-Musik hindustanischen Musik, in der sie als Soloinstrument, mit Tabla und in Ensembles gespielt wird. Weltweit ist das Instrument zum bekanntesten indischen Saiteninstrument geworden - seit den 1960er-Jahren beeinflusste der Sound eine Reihe von Rockmusikern wie George Harrison.

Supratik Sen Gupta wurde in Kolkata geboren und erhielt seine erste Ausbildung von Sri Kuber Sen Gupta. Seine weitere Ausbildung fand unter Sri Biswanath Das und Pt. Debaprasad Chakraborty, später unter Sangeetacharya Ajoy Sinha Roy und Dr. Pradeep Chakraborty statt. Supratik trat der ITC Sangeet Research Academy im Jahr 2001 unter der Leitung von Padmabhushan Pandit Buddhadeb Das Gupta und Partha Pratim Chatterjee bei. Er belegte bei vielen renommierten Musikwettbewerben erste Plätze und wurde mit dem Best Instrumentalist Prize von "The Dover Lane Music Conference", dem Prasun Banerjee Memorial Award und dem Pandit Gokul Nag Memorial Award ausgezeichnet. Er erhielt das Nationalstipendium des "Ministeriums für Tourismus und Kultur Indiens".

Supratik hat an vielen großen Musikkonferenzen in ganz Indien und in Europa teilgenommen. Er ist ein "A" -Künstler des All India Radio und TV und ein Künstler des ICCR, NewDelhi.

Angshubha Banerjee ist ein brillanter Tabla-Spieler aus Kolkata, der für seinen unverwechselbaren Spielstil bekannt ist. Er lernte Tabla von Late Ustad Keramatullaha Khan und Pandit Gobinda Bose. Angshubha hat das Privileg, zahlreiche große indische klassische Musiker wie Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta, Pandit V. Balsara, Ustad Ikbal Ahamed Khan oder Shri Parthosarothy zu begleiten.
