Travel Advisory
In the wake of major terrorist attacks in Paris ( November 13, 2015) , Brussels ( March 22, 2016) and Nice ( July 14,2016) where many have lost lives, Europe in general remains vulnerable for such attacks, particularly from ISIS, Al – Qaeda and Lone Wolf elements. Therefore, visiting Germany being a European country too requires caution. In the back drop of recent incidents in Germany – Essen Gurudwara attack (April 16, 2016), Wurzburg (Bavaria- July 18, 2016) and Ansbach (Bavaria - July 24, 2016), where perpetrators have been linked to Jihadi outfits and sympathizers, the possibility of such incidents which can affect personal security are not ruled out in Germany in future. The German government and their agencies are aware and prepared to meet such eventualities and have also tightened security vigil.
As these incidents in Europe are taking place in public places, transport hubs like metro rail, Airports and Sports complexes, they become soft targets of these terror groups. This also applies to places of large tourist attendance. Hence, tourists are advised to remain cautious, particularly in such places.
