Applicants meeting 2G Covid regulations can walk into Embassy of India, Berlin between 0930-1230 hrs on any working day to submit the passport applications. Alternatively, passport application can be sent by post to the Embassy.
To apply for Passport Services at the Embassy of India, Berlin, it is necessary to fill the application online.
The Online application form is available at https://portal6.passportindia.gov.in
All Passports will be issued only after verifying the credentials of the applicants.
Consular surcharge of Euro 2 is levied on all consular services.
The size of the photograph is 2” x 2”.
Payment is accepted preferably through Bank transfer or in cash to be paid at Embassy's cash counter. Debit/Credit cards are not accepted.
Processing of a completed passport application may take up to seven weeks. Please refrain from making inquiries during this period.

New passport can be issued more than one year before the expiry of the current passport.
Tatkal facility is not available at Embassy of India Berlin.
1. Re-issue of new passport due to EXHAUSTION OF PAGES/EXPIRATION OF VALIDITY/CHANGE IN APPEARANCE

Note:
(i) Transit passengers whose passport is lost/damaged can be issued a short validity hand written or machine readable passport. Issuance of machine readable passport may take minimum of 15 working days.
(ii) Transit passengers whose passport is lost/damaged and are returning to India can be issued an Emergency Certificate. An Emergency Certificate, a one-way travel document which authorizes an Indian national to enter India, is issued to those whose passport has been lost, stolen or damaged and to whom a new passport cannot be issued immediately. This service is primarily extended with the objective of ensuring a transit passenger´s return to India. Documents required for issuance of an Emergency Certificate are:

Note: For a child born in Germany to be registered as an Indian citizen the application must be made within one year of the child's birth on the prescribed form. At least one of the child's parents must be an Indian citizen at the time of applying. Copies of passports of both parents and original birth certificate of the child (plus a copy) along with the application. If birth registration of the child with the Embassy is sought after one year of birth, the parents of the child are required to state the reasons for the same in writing. Additionally, an affidavit needs to be submitted by the parents stating that the child has not acquired German nationality. Local authorities should also confirm non-acquisition of German nationality by the child. The passport issued is valid for five years.
