Manoj Baruah started learning violin from his brother, Deepak Baruah, at the age of ten. He went on to study with Smt. Sulaya Banerjee of Kolkata and Professor Sisirkana Dharchowdury. He has an M.A. in instrumental music from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. Currently he is researching the evolution of violin in Indian music at Vishwa Bharati University, Shantiniketan. Manoj is a regular performer on All India Radio and Doordashan TV and has toured in India, Bangladesh, the UK, Germany, Switzerland and France.
In 1997 he was awarded a National Scholarship by the Indian Government. He has received other awards from the West Bengal Academy of Dance, Drama and Visuals, the All Assam Violin Competition, Hiren Roy Smriti Puraskar from Rabindra Bharati University and the Maya Mitra Memorial Instrumental Competition from the Aurobindo institute of culture. He released CDs on the Urban Prayer label and has composed and played music for film and TV.

Manoj Baruah will be accompanied on tabla by well known Indian percussionist Shri Suman Sarkar.

Manoj Baruah lernte Geige von seinem Bruder Deepak im Alter von zehn Jahren, später von Smt. Sulaya Banerjee (Kolkata) und Professor Sisirkana Dharchowdury. Er erwarb einen M.A. (Master of Arts-Titel) in Instrumentalmusik an der Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. Derzeit erforscht er die Evolution der Geige in der indischen Musik an der Vishwa Bharati University, Shantiniketan.
Manoj ist ein oft zu erlebender Künstler des All India Radio und Doordashan TV und hat in Indien, Bangladesch, Großbritannien, Deutschland, der Schweiz und Frankreich konzertiert. 1997 wurde er mit einem Nationalen Stipendium von der indischen Regierung ausgezeichnet. Daneben bekam er zahlreiche andere Ehrungen und Auszeichnungen. Er veröffentlichte CDs beim Urban Prayer Label und komponierte und spielte Musik für Film und TV.

Manoj Baruah wird auf der Tabla vom bekannten indischen Perkussionisten Shri Suman Sarkar begleitet.
