Im Jenseits treffen sich Mahatma Gandhi und Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Beide stehen kurz davor, sich wieder auf die Erde zu begeben. Von ihrem jeweiligen kulturellen Hintergrund ausgehend, blicken sie auf Situationen des aktuellen konfliktreichen Weltgeschehens.
Zwischen ihnen entflammt ein subtiler Wettstreit über die Frage, auf welchem Wege eine friedlichere, harmonischere Gesellschaft geschaffen werden kann: Ist die gesellschaftliche Einflussnahme Erfolg versprechender durch politischen Aktivismus, oder indirekt mittels Musik und Kunst?
Das Publikum lernt Mozart als tanzbegeisterten und überraschend gesellschaftskritischen Künstler kennen, der zu dem hochmusikalischen, spirituell interessierten Gandhi eine kontroverse Freundschaft entwickelt. So führt Gandhi Mozart nicht nur in die Kunst des kreativen Widerstands, sondern auch in den indischen Tempeltanz ein, während Mozart für Mahatma sein berühmtes Klarinettenkonzert interpretiert und gemeinsam mit Gandhi als Musiker-Duo auftritt...
Mahatma Gandhi and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are surprised to find themselves together in heaven - each of them is eagerly waiting for his long desired reincarnation
on earth. While both of them observe the earthy problems from above, a subtle competition is rising between them about finding the best way to spread peace between nations and each individual.

Would it be more successful to commit oneself into political activism,
or would a long-term approach through the arts and culture finally be the better method?

The audience gets to know Gandhi as a very spiritual music-lover, developing a controversial friendship with Mozart, who is emerging more and more as a surprisingly critical artist.
So Gandhi not only introduces his specific strategies of creative opposition to Mozart, but also presents traditional Indian Bharata natyam dance to the composer. Together, they even form a music group....

The theatre play unites a variety of artistic genres, ranging from spoken theatre to live music, puppet theatre, dances (semi classical Indian, Ballett, Bollywood)- combined with a fine sense of humour.
