The idea for the program of the three musicians came from inspiring aspects of Orient & Occident. The seriousness, structure and harmony from Europe on one side and on the other the natural asymmetric flow, the soul moving emotions and rich ornaments from North India. Both, Johann Sebastian Bach and Indian classical music are strong connected to God. In the concert there will be one melody played in both Eastern and Western style of interpretation. With the same emotional message the sensitive musicians talk in different dialects of one language – the language of music.

Amit Chatterjee is a star tabla player from Kolkata, India. The famous internationally reputed Tabla Maestro, Pandit Sankha Chatterjee being the Uncle and Guru of Amit; found extraordinary talent and tremendous eagerness in Amit to touch and play the tabla. He regularly performs with some of the greatest names in Indian Classical Music. With an unique blend of both Farukhabad and Punjab’s rich musical flavor in his music, he got these rare opportunities to receive blessings of great stalwarts and maestros of the likes of Late Ustad Allarakha Khan, Late Ustad Vilayat Khan or Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri.

Steven Tailor (Saxophone, Trumpet, Flute) has worked out a variety of own compositions: Pieces for string orchestra, organ sonatas over to Jazz books for his students in Flute, Saxophone or Trumpet. His way of playing is mainly inspired by lyrical players in the Jazz history like Sten Getz, Chet Baker or Ack van Rooyen and was honored by the Outstanding musicians award from the Berklee College.
On the search for new musical ideas in 2013 he came along the Hindustani style of music. Friendships with well known musicians from India have influenced his style of improvisation in a way it did the Baroque music. In 2015 Tailor has started a set of 12 series of tutorial Videos for Jazz improvisation.
His latest CD has combined the style of Latin Jazz with the ideas of the greatest composer of his home Thuringia; Johann Sebastian Bach.

Rupam Gosh began to learn violin from the age of 9 years under the tutelage of proclaimed violinist Prof. Robin Ghosh. He is a disciple of living legend, world renowned Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and is under the guidance of Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty. From 1997 till date he regularly performed in Europe & in U.S.A. His recent concerts were at the Orgel festival, the Mahler festival in Italy, "UNIO MYSTICA" and the International Violin Festival in France. He also teaches North Indian Classical Music.

Die Grundidee für dieses Programm kam den 3 Musikern aus der gegenseitigen Inspiration von Orient und Okzident. Einerseits die Ernsthaftigkeit, Struktur und Harmonie aus Europa und andererseits die natürliche Asymmetrie, die bewegenden Gefühle und die reichen Verzierungen der Musik aus Nordindien. Sowohl die Musik Johann Sebastian Bachs wie auch die klassische indische Musik werden musiziert zu Ehren Gottes. Im Konzert werden die gleichen Melodien in östlicher und westlicher Spielweise erklingen. Mit dem gleichen Affekt zeigen die empfindsamen Musiker verschiedene Dialekte der gleichen Sprache: der Sprache der Musik.

Amit Chatterjee, Star Tablaspieler aus Kalkutta, ist der Neffe von Pandit Sankha Chatterjee - Tabla Meister von internationalem Ruf, der Amit’s besonderen Fähigkeiten auf der Tabla entdeckte und entwickelte.
Amit gastierte sowohl auf großen Festivals in Neu Delhi, Mumbai und Kolkata wie auch auf namhaften Musikevents in den USA, Holland, England, Schweiz und Frankreich. Stilistisch bewegt er sich in einer einzigartigen Mischung der Musik aus Farukhabad und Punjab. Seiner muskalischen Karriere wohlgesonnen waren große indische Meister wie Late Ustad Allarakha Khan, Late Ustad Vilayat Khan oder Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri.

Steven Tailor ist ein Saxofonist und Trompeter aus Erfurt, spezialisiert auf Jazz und Alte Musik. Seine Studien in Weimar und Berlin führten zu intensiven Begegnungen mit Lee Konitz, Nils Landgren, Kenny Wheeler, Menno van Delft, Christoph Huntgeburth und Siegfried Pank. 2013 hat er sein drittes Album veröffentlicht. Seine charakterstarken Kompostionen erklingen für Saxofon und Streichquartett, Flöte solo oder Trompete & Klavier. Seine Tongebung vereint Einlüss aus der klassischen Musik und der lyrischen Spielweise von Chet Baker und Sten Getz. Seit 2013 fließen Prinzipien aus der indischen Musik in Tailors Musik ein.

Rupam Gosh begann mit 9 Jahren das Spiel der Violine unter der Anleitung des namhaften Prof. Robin Gosh. Er ist ein Schüler der lebenden Legende Ustad Amjad Ali Khan und von Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty.
Seit 1997 ist Rupam Gosh regelmäßig zu Gast in Europa und den USA. Besonders in Frankreich wird seine verständige Art, die klassische Nordindische Musik zu lehren, in Meisterkursen begeistert aufgenommen. Den jüngsten Höhepunkt bildete ein Orgelfestival in Italien. Dort wurde auch die CD „UNIO MYSTICO“ produziert und veröffentlicht.
