Asad belongs to the 6th generation of the highly respected musical tradition of Mewati Gharana. He is deeply rooted in Indian Classical music, having studied exclusively under his father Ustad Siraj Khan, eminent leading sitarist. Asad Khan plays Sitar, thrives on challenges, loves to crossover between Indian music & variety of genres including Jazz, Flamenco, Western Classical, Electronic, Rock, Lounge fusion, Sufi, Folk , Thematic music to film scores and tries to achieve the never before result.
Asad has played concerts at some of the most prestigious venues across the world. Besides solo concerts, Asad has shared the stage with world famous artists, musicians, orchestras and music producers like Herbie Hancock, A R Rahman, India Arie, Barry Manilow, Colbie Caillat, Jamiroquai, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra or the Babelsberg Film Orchestra. From Raga to Rock, Asad has done it all... taking his music all over the world.
Some of the films & albums Asad has collaborated with are Jodha-Akbar, Raavan, Jhoota hi Sahi, Sultan the warrior, Nokia connections, and "Slumdog Millonaire".

Asad gehort zur 6. Generation der hoch angesehenen Musiktradition Mewati Gharana. Er ist tief in der indischen klassischen Musik verwurzelt und hat ausschließlich bei seinem Vater Ustad Siraj Khan gelernt. Asad Khan spielt Sitar, lebt von Herausforderungen und liebt es, indische Musik mit anderen musikalischen Genres zu verbinden: mit Jazz, Flamenco, westlicher Klassik, Electronic, Rock, Lounge-Fusion, Sufi, Folk und Filmmusik, wobei er versucht, noch nie zuvor zu erreichte Klänge zu schaffen.
Asad hat Konzerte in einigen der renommiertesten Konzertsälen auf der ganzen Welt gespielt. Neben Solokonzerten hat er die Bühne mit weltberühmten Künstlern, Musikern, Orchestern und Musikproduzenten wie Herbie Hancock, AR Rahman, India Arie, Barry Manilow, Colbie Caillat, Jamiroquai, dem London Philharmonic Orchestra, dem Norwegischen Rundfunkorchester oder dem Filmorchester Babelsberg geteilt. Von Raga bis Rock hat Asad alles gemacht und dabei seine Musik weltweit präsentiert.
