Thoroughbred mother Maya (Kajol) is a single mother and lives with her three children Aleya, Ankush and Anjali in Sydney. Since her divorce from Aman (Arjun Rampal) she alone runs the household and holds the family together. One day, Aman introduces his new girlfriend, the lively career woman Shreya (Kareena Kapoor), who is immediately dismissed by children and mother as evil witch. But when Maya learns that she has only months to live, they try to make the warm-hearted but clumsy Shreya a good mother for her children.
Producer Karan Johar brings the star cast of his classic Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham together again - the result is a top-class family drama in best Bollywood tradition.

Vollblutmutter Maya (Kajol) ist alleinerziehend und lebt mit ihren drei Kindern Aleya, Ankush und Anjali in Sydney.
