Durga Puja is extensively celebrated with much fervor and devotion in whole of India. It is not just a festival, but a major socio-cultural event. Gigantic statues of the goddess are raised at a towering height to portray the triumph of good over evil. The rituals of Durga Puja include offering prayers to the Goddess to seek her blessings. The celebrations of Durga Puja have gone far beyond religion. Culturally, the Durga Puja includes public ceremonies, music, dance and art as intrinsic part of the celebrations.
