Dr Sunil Kothari is a leading dance historian and scholar on Indian dance. He is honoured by the President of India with civil honour Padma Shri and SangeetNatakAkademi award for his contribution to Indian dance.He is a prolific writer and has 18 books on dance to his credit including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi, New Directions In Indian Dance, Sattriyadances of Assam and photo biographies of Uday Shankar and Rukmini Devi.
Dr Kothari was Uday Shankar Professor of dance at RabindraBharati University and taught dance there till 1993.In between he was invited to Jawaharlal Nehru University to start School of Arts and Aesthetics where he was Dean and Professor.
Dr Kothari is a Fulbright Professor and has taught at New York University,UCLA, Evergreen college and Georgia University in USA.Dr Kothari is currently Visiting Professor of Dance at JNU.Based in New Delhi he currently is a dance critic of The Hindu.
For the last four decadesRajyashree Ramesh has been shaping the dance scene as a Performer, Master Teacher, innovative Choreographer, Movement Analyst and Researcher. Always on the lookout for innovative impulses, her dance connects movement and expression, art and science, history and contemporality, the local and the global, and most importantly, people.
