IIT,Indore TU9, Germany collaboration enhanced

1. As a follow up to the Joint Statement at the Inter Governmental Consultations (IGC) between India and Germany in October 2015, IIT-Indore and TU9 Germany are exploring the options of collaboration.

2. Working ardently towards this a "Research Workshop" has been organized by IIT-Indore TU9 at Technical University(TU) Berlin on 2-3 Nov 2016. This is the second such meeting in 2016 showing the eagerness between the teams to formulate a long term collaborative program.

3. During the inaugural part of the workshop on 2nd November 2016, IIT, Indore signed two MoUs. The first MoU was signed with Technical University, Belin represented by President, Dr. Christian Thomsen and the second was signed with Leibniz University, Hannover represented by President, Prof. Volker Epping in the presence of Shri. Gurjit Singh, Ambassador of India, Prof. Mathur, Director, IIT Indore and Mr. R. Madhan, Counsellor S&T, Embassy of India, Berlin.

4. At the opening session Ambassador spoke and stressed on the urgent need for strengthening and taking forward the cooperation in education between India and Germany. The time was appropriate to initiate new vistas of cooperation, especially with the birth of new IIT's of India. A recorded video message from Mr. Prakash Javedekar, Minister for Human Resource Development addressed the participants and wished the workshop success towards building up a strong collaboration between the two countries in the field of higher education.
