Second annual edition of National Teachers’ Congress (NTC), on January 10, 11 & 12, 2018, being organized by MIT World Peace University, Kothrud, Pune, India and UNESCO Chair of Human Rights, Democracy, Peace & Tolerance, Pune.

The National Teachers’ Congress was founded in 2016 with active support from the Government of Maharashtra. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra is the Chief Patron of this platformIt is also supported by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) (Ministry of HRD), Association of Indian University (AIU) and the UNESCO Chair of Human Rights, Democracy, Peace & Tolerance, Pune. In addition to that, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has galvanized support from the Chief Ministers of all Indian states.

The 1st edition of National Teachers’ Congress was held on September 23, 24 & 25, 2016 at Pune, India. For the very first time in India, about 5000 teachers from all parts of the country gathered at one platform and were exposed to extensive deliberations and dialogue for 3 days.

They not only contributed immensely on several issues but also reinstated their vital role in building India's future. This gathering was unique since it attracted participation of Teachers from multi disciplines of education. Due to its sheer size in a country as vast as India, the participants relished the inter-cultural interaction and exchange of ideas with their peers though Teachers to Teachers connect (network) an integral activity conducted on all three days of the conclave.

The second edition of National Teachers’ Congress (2nd NTC), is being held on January 10, 11 & 12, 2018, at MIT World Peace University, Kothrud, Pune, India. As there are huge number of Indian teachers abroad, who are making our country proud by their exceptional abilities and intellect, their participation at the 2ndNTC with a bigger vision and purpose is sought as well. Participation of about 1000 University teachers of Indian origin living outside India, in addition to 5000 university teachers from all states of India is expected.  A number of thought leaders, policy makers, Academic leaders, business leaders and spiritual leaders will interact with the teachers over a period of three days. The Inauguration will be done by “His Holiness Dalai Lama’’.

It is hoped that Indian university teachers living outside India, will look at it as a befitting opportunity to give back to their motherland even while rendering exceptional services in the country they are living in. This union of gifted minds (Indian teachers from India and abroad) is bound to rejuvenate and add new perspectives to the teachers from all parts of India and the world. With this hand-holding, it would be possible to shrink the damage the country has experienced due to brain-drain. This will also help in globalization of Indian education as well as evolving a better and enriching education system in India to regain its old glory of Vishwa-Guru.
