INTERNSHIP GUIDELINES AT EMBASSY OF INDIA, BERLIN

The Internship Programme at the Embassy provides an opportunity to familiarize Interns with the work of the Embassy.

Location: The internship will be in the Embassy of India, Berlin. An intern will be required to work only on-site (within Embassy of India, Berlin premises). Off-site internship is not available.

Eligibility:

(i) The Internship is open to:

           (a) German Nationals

           (b) Non-Resident Indians (including OCI and PIO) who ‘ordinarily reside’ in Germany.

(ii) An applicant should possess a graduate degree or should at least have completed the penultimate year of an undergraduate course before the commencement of internship.

(iii) Preference will be given to applicants with excellent academic track record from institutions of repute and credible recommendations from faculty who have taught / guided them in the past.

(iv) Age limit: Below 30 years

Duration: The duration of the internship would be for a minimum period of one month and a maximum of six months. No extension in duration will be granted.

Application:

(i) Application must be submitted at least five months in advance of the proposed commencement of internship with the Embassy of India, Berlin.

(ii) Copy of the application in prescribed format (Annexure I), along with necessary documents listed below are to be submitted by the applicant to the Embassy (hoc.berlin@mea.gov.in).

Necessary documents to be submitted along with Application Form:

(i) Duly filled in Application form (Annexure I).

(ii) Copy of documentary proof of identity which may include copy of Passport/Aadhar Card/Voter ID/Pan Card/Driving License, etc. and proof of residence.

(iii) Curriculum Vitae

(iv) Introduction Letter from the Head of Institution on official stationery where the applicant studied/is studying.

(v) No objection certificate from University/Institution in case the internship is to be pursued in parallel with the ongoing course.

(vi) Self-attested certificates and transcripts for all the accomplishments mentioned in Paras 8, 9 and 13 of Application Form (educational qualifications, current courses being pursued and projects undertaken).

Termination of internship: Embassy of India, Berlin may terminate an internship at any point without assigning any reason, if the Embassy deems it necessary. No appeal would be accepted in case of termination.

No financial remuneration will be paid to the interns.

The Internship Programme will neither be an employment nor the assurance of any employment with the Embassy of India, Berlin.
