An evening of raga exposition rendition in an unusual manner where the song and dance comes as a crown of the emotions. Yogeswaran will explore 3 known ragas and Eva will perform padam-songs of the Barathanatyam repertory in each of the ragas.

Eva Isolde Balzer is a trained theatre performer with a focus on intimate, inter-disciplinary and site-specific performances and a special interest in decolonialization. Since 2006 Eva has been studying Kuchipudi and Bharata Natyam under the guidance of Rajyashree Ramesh. She takes intensive courses in Bharatanatyam with Sangeeta Isvaran and Sreelatha Vinodh. Previously she learned Kuchipudi with Vedantam Ramu and Vijayanthi Kashi. Her interest in Bharatanatyam is intervowen with her research in eurocentrism and decolonial practices. In collaboratorion with Johanna Devi Dance Company Eva performed the pieces Hybrid Identities and Santosham, which include bharatanatyam into a frame of contemporary European performance.
Manickam Yogeswaran\'s career spans more than three decades. He was trained in South Indian classical (Carnatic) music. Since then, his work as a live performer extends into different branches of music, film and contemporary music. Yogeswaran has performed a song composed by Jocelyn Pook as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her Diamond Jubilee in June 2012. His recent work also includes singing for multimedia productions including Voices across the world at the Royal Opera House London. Yogeswaran lives in Berlin and teaches South Indian Classical music at the Global Music Academy.

Ein Abend einer ungewöhnlichen Raga Präsentation mit Gesang und Tanz als emotionalem Höhepunkt. Yogeswaran wird drei bekannte Ragas (klasische indische Melodien) gesanglich erforschen, Eva wird Padam-Lieder aus dem Barathanatyam Repertoire zu jedem der Ragas präsentieren
Eva Isolde Balzer ist ausgebildete Theater-Darstellerin mit Fokus auf interdisziplinäre und ortsspezifische Performances. Daneben lernte sie Kuchipudi-Tanz von Vedantam Ramu und Vijayanthi Kashi. In Zusammenarbeit mit der Johanna Devi Dance Company hat Eva an Stücken Santosham mitgewirkt.
Manickam Yogeswaran’s Karriere erstreckt sich über mehr als drei Jahrzehnte. Er wurde in südindischer klassischer Musik geschult. Seitdem erstreckt sich seine Arbeit als Live-Performer in über Musik und Film hin zu zeitgenössischer Musik. Yogeswaran hat ein Lied von Jocelyn Pook komponiert, welches als Hommage an Queen Elizabeth II. anlässlich ihres Diamant-Jubiläum im Juni 2012 aufgeführt wurde. Daneben hat er für Multimedia- Produktionen und Hollywood – Filmen gesungen: Soundtrack zu Stanley Kubricks Eyes Wide Shut, Spike Lees The 25th Hour und der Evening Standard für die beste Musik, britische Verfilmung von Monica Alis Bestseller Brick Lane (2007).
Yogeswaran wohnt derzeit in Berlin und lehrt südindische klassische Musik an der Global Music Academy.
