With Guru Bhate’s understanding of the structure and aesthetics of Talas, her flair for adaptation of oral traditions, and her analytical and innovative approach to abhinaya, she has enriched the Kathak repertoire creating a large corpus of dance compositions: Traditional & Contemporary.
All these compositions have opened to rave reviews and has since years been presented at major venues across India and internationally.
Rujuta Soman Cultural Academy, in association with Poonam Shyam Trishna School of Kathak, Zurich has organized this dance tour exploring the idiom of Kathak, through Guru Bhate’s various contemporary and traditional themes highlighting the natural affinity that the Western Art and Kathak share, in terms of content, technique and spirit.
The dance troupe with 10 dancers will authentically promote classical Indian dance - Kathak in the Western world and will also aim to augment both Indian and contemporary dance idiom through various possible workshops and performances.

Mit Guru Bhate’s Verständnis der Struktur und Ästhetik von Rhythmen, ihrem Gespür für die Anpassung der mündlichen Überlieferungen und ihrem analytischen und innovativen Ansatz des Ausdruckes hat sie das Kathak Repertoire enorm mit Tanzkompositionen bereichert.
Alle diese Kompositionen wurden von Kritikern hoch gelobt und sind seit Jahren auf den großen Bühnen nicht nur in Indien präsent.
Die Rujuta Soman Kulturakademie, in Zusammenarbeit mit der Poonam Shyam Trishna School of Kathak, Zürich hat diese Tournee organisiert, welche die Formensprache des Kathak durch zeitgenössische und traditionelle Themen erforscht. Guru Bhate belebt damit die Kunst des Kathak- Tanzes in der westlichen Welt und präsentiert diesen mit Inhalt, Technik und Geist.
Die Tanzgruppe mit 10 Tänzern wird authentischen klassischen indischen Tanz Kathak präsentieren.
