We are pleased to inform you that the Tagore Centre, Embassy of India, Berlin is inviting applications for film screenings during a 4-day Indian Film Festival in Berlin in January 2025. The festival is being organised with support from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

With our wide network of cinema partners, in addition to the festival hub in Berlin, simultaneous screenings will be conducted across key German cities such as Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich. Along with celebrating India’s rich tradition of cinematic excellence, the festival will be supported by an Industry Day to facilitate the bi-lateral exchange of ideas and provide easy access to information related to filmmaking, funding and co-production, distribution, and strategic support for films and filmmakers via networking events, panel discussions and masterclasses.

In order to submit a film to the festival, filmmakers are requested to complete the attached submission form and send a screener link as a first step. Both the completed submission form and the selection screener will need to reach us within the stated deadline. Screener links will be handled in complete confidentiality with the selection process carried out internally in the Embassy.

Deadline for submission: October 25, 2024 for commercial feature-length films / October 31, 2024 for short films, documentaries and independent regional films

Date of completion: within the 12 months prior to the festival, with exceptions made for internationally acclaimed award-winning films.

Accepted formats for selection: file upload in mp4 format (H.264, AAC, Stereo)

Notification of results: as soon as possible, at the latest by 15th December 2024.
