69th ICCR Foundation Day celebrations on 09.04.2019 at Embassy of India, Berlin.
The Tagore Centre, Embassy of India, Berlin celebrated “ICCR FOUNDATION DAY”. ICCR was founded on 9th April, 1950 by Shri Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, independent India’s first Education Minister. Ambassador of India to Germany, Mrs. Mukta Dutta Tomar lit the lamp along with renowned German Indologist, Dr. Maria Schetelich.
A short film produced by ICCR, ' Soft Power - Idea of India was also screened on this occasion. ICCR alumni and only German female dancer who has specialized in Kathakali dance, Ms. Isa Jacobi gave a performance. Ms. Anna Deitrich, Culture and Dance Educationalist, choreographer and dancer performed classical Indian dance form Mohiniyattam. Both the artists have been associated with ICCR for long.
Director, The Tagore Centre, Ms. Malathi Rao Vadapalli welcomed the guests, highlighted the objectives of ICCR and brought to the fore significant outreach by ICCR in the last seven decades and felicitated the artists.
The event was attended by Indologists, Professors, ICCR alumni, artists, Curators from museums, Indian Diaspora and friends of India.
