Increased interest among German SMEs to participate in Make in India Mittlestand Initiative
1. Under the aegis of the Make in India Mittlestand (MIIM) market entry facilitation programme run by the Embassy of India, a day long workshop on Financing options, Pricing Strategies and Distribution Channels" was held for German SMEs at Stuttgart today. The workshop was organized in partnership with Landersbank Badenwuertenberg (LBBW), State Bank of India (SBI), Euro-Asia Consulting (EAC) and Roedl & Partner.
2. The workshop dealt with various means by which German Mittlestand can finance operations of their subsidiaries in India and how MIIM Banking Partners LBBW and SBI could assist them in that process. Companies were briefed on how to develop pricing strategies for Indian Market in order to be competitive and on setting up efficient distribution channels in India.
3. The workshop was inaugurated by Ambassador of India to Germany H E Gurjit Singh together with Mr. Dirk Kipp, Member of the Executive Management Board of LBBW. Inaugurating the workshop, Ambassador Gurjit Singh called on Mittlestand companies to explore the consortium approach for participating in infrastructure projects including projects rolled out under the 100 Smart Cities initiative of the Government of India. He assured full support of the Embassy in facilitating investments by the Mittlestand companies under the MIIM initiative.
The MIIM programme is already facilitating investments by over 50 German SME's. The workshop witnessed great enthusiasm with new German SME's showing keen interest in joining the MIIM initiative to MAKE IN INDIA.
