The tenth Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting in Indo-German Cooperation in Vocational Education and Training (VET) was held on 24th October 2017 in Bonn, Germany. The Indian side was led by Dr. K.P. Krishnan, Secretary, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the German side by Mr. Volker Rieke, Director General, Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The JWG discussed a wide range of issues on how to further Indo-German cooperation in VET and skill development. In line with implementation of the MoU signed during the fourth Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) in May 2017 in Berlin, the leaders of the delegation discussed a statement welcoming Indo-German Joint Certification on VET. In this regard, they welcomed the efforts of the National Council on Vocational Training (NCVT) on the Indian side and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) on the German side to take steps forward in this matter and to be responsible for the quality assurance throughout the whole training process as well as the certification.
Dr. K P Krishnan invited Mr. Volker Reike to visit India for the next round of JWG on VET Cooperation in 2018.
