The Government of Assam, India is hosting the "Advantage Assam 2.0: Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025" on 25-26 February, 2025 at Guwahati, Assam to promote economic growth, industrialization, and global collaborations. The Summit will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India.

2. Assam, the largest economy in Northeast India, is emerging as a critical driver of industrial growth and the state has positioned itself as a hub for manufacturing, exports, and resource-driven industries. With abundant natural resources, the state has a strong industrial presence in sectors such as petroleum, natural gas, tea, cement, and silk, etc. The state is now poised for accelerated economic growth with the aim to double its GDP to USD 140.5 bn by FY 2029-30 and aiming to diversify its economic base to various other sectors.

    Highlights of Assam's Industrial & Economic Strength:

• Manufacturing: 14% contribution to GSVA and 12% workforce employment.
• Exports: $442.3 million in FY24, with tea alone contributing $241 million.
• Major Investments: $4.72 bn USD, including Tata Electronics' $3.19 bn USD semiconductor OSAT unit.
• Renewable Energy: Targeting 6,500 MW by 2030, focusing on solar and green hydrogen.
• Infrastructure Growth: Surfaced roads expanded from 27,782 KM (2015) to 51,841 KM (2024).

3. The Summit will be organized with the objectives to showcase Assam as a premier investment destination, attract investments, and foster partnerships. Sectoral sessions covering 10 focus areas including semiconductors, green energy, aerospace, tourism, infrastructure, food & beverages, mobility & logistics, etc. The structure of the Summit will be as below:

• Plenary Session: Inauguration by the Hon'ble Prime Minister
• Sectoral Sessions: Covering 10 focus areas, including semiconductors, green energy, aerospace, and more.
• Country-specific sessions: Promoting international collaboration with ASEAN and other regions.
• Cultural showcase: Meha Jhumooir performance by 7,500 artists from Assam's tea estates.
• Valedictory Ceremony: Address by Hon'ble Union Finance Minister.
