Swachh Vidyalaya/Clean School Campaign

In pursuance to the announcement made by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on Independence Day, the Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India have launched "Swachh Vidyalaya" campaign aimed at providing toilets to all schools in the country within one year. Main features of this campaign are described below:

• Any individual or corporate institution willing to build toilets in any school will be allotted such a school by the Ministry of Human Resource Development/ respective State Governments, as the case may be.

• Indicative design and estimated cost of toilet blocks can be accessed at:
1. Boys Toilets in Elementary Schools
2. Girls Toilets in Elementary Schools
3. Toilet in Elementary School - Boys and Girls
4. Toilets in Secondary Schools

Subsequent maintenance of these toilets by the contributors would also be welcomed.
