IMPORTANT: The above documents must be first notarized and attested by the District Court (Landsgerichte) in the states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt, Thüringen before submission to the Embassy.
Q No 3 What is the procedure for attestation of Power of Attorney
(i) For Indian Nationals:
- Please prepare the PoA as per your requirement.
- Transfer the fee to Embassy Bank account as per details given on our website. (Please note that it takes 2-3 working days for confirmation of receipt of fee by the bank).
- Walk in the Embassy Consular Wing between 1030 and 1230 hrs on any working day along with your Indian passport in original, German Visa or Ausweis/ Residence permit (in original), Aadhar Card (in original) and a copy of the PoA.
- The PoA has to be signed by the applicant in the presence of the Consular Officer.
- PoA is then deposited for registration and processing, and is usually returned after 1600 hrs on the same day or in the next working day.
(ii) For Foreign Nationals:
- Please get the document notarized and attested by the District Court (Landsgericht) within the jurisdiction of the Mission.
- Transfer the fee to Embassy Bank account as per details given on our website. (Please note that it takes 2-3 working days for confirmation of receipt of fee by the bank).

Q No 4 What is the procedure for attestation of Affidavit & Declaration?
For Indian Nationals:

Q No 5 What is the fee for attestation service and how do I pay it?
Fee can be paid either in cash at the Consular counter at the Embassy or through bank transfer. The details for bank transfer can be seen

Please note taht it takes 3-4 wroking days for bank to reconcile and confirm to the Embassy that the fee has been deposited by the applicant.
Q No 6 How to get appointment for Attestation of Documents?
Applicants can submit the documents for attestation without any appointment on any working day between 9.30 hrs and 12.30 hours at the consular counter or they may send by post (original documents with a copy of all pages of the document) with a self-addressed envelope with the required amount of stamps.
Q No 7 What is the time-line for attestation of documents?
Applications submitted at the counter:
The service will be rendered on the same day or the next day after submission of the document at the counter in person.
Applications submitted by post:
The service will be rendered within 2 days after the verification of the fee receipt at the Embassy (this takes normally about a week) provided all the documents are in order and fees have been fully paid.
