Viraja & Shyamjit Kiran

Viraja Mandhre and Shyamjithkiran are a young dynamic dancer duo in the field of Bharatanatyam. Both have an outstanding record at Kalakshetra, where they excelled in their diploma and post diploma courses. Apart from this, Shyamjith holds a diploma in Bharatanatyam from Guru V.P. Dhananjayan\'s institute Bhaskara. Viraja has been the Best Outgoing Student in Kalakshetra for the year 2007 and also received awards for scoring the highest in performance and in theory. She holds a “Visharad” degree in Bharatanatyam from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai. Viraja is a certified Yoga teacher and a Post Graduate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Madras.
Viraja and Shyam are empanelled artists with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
During their course of study and later too, they were blessed to be a part of the Kalakshetra repertory company and work with eminent performers and gurus in the field, taking up major roles and traveling across the globe with the troupe. They have been a part of both Bharatanatyam and Kathakali performances of the dance company. They underwent their training in Kathakali under Asan Sadanam Sri. Balakrishnan. They have also been practicing Kalaripayattu under Sri. Shaji K. John.
Both Viraja and Shyam have had the worthy opportunity of teaching part-time at their alma mater for over four years. Shyam was also a dance instructor at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society and has played a major role in choreographing at their programs.

Viraja Mandhre und Shyamjithkiran sind ein junges dynamisches Bharatanatyam Tanzduo. Sie beendeten ihre Bharatanatyam-Lehre im Schatten des großen Banyanbaumes der berühmten Kalakshetra in Chennai. Shyamjith erhielt außerdem das Bharatanatyam - Diplom des Guru VP Dhananjayan Institut Bhaskara. Viraja war 2007 Best Outgoing Student der Kalakshetra und erhielt auch Auszeichnungen für ihre Leistungen. Sie hat einen "Visharad" Abschluss in Bharatanatyam vom Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai. Viraja ist daneben ein zertifizierter Yoga-Lehrer und Absolvent in Counseling Psychology der Universität von Madras.
Viraja und Shyam sind eingetragene Künstler beim Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
Während ihres Studiums und auch später arbeiteten sie mit dem Kalakshetra Ensemble zusammen mit namhaften Künstlern und Gurus und reisten auf der ganzen Welt mit der Gruppe. Sie waren ein Teil der  Bharatanatyam und Kathakali -Truppe der Tanzkompanie, wo sie unter Asan Sadanam Sri. Balakrishnan ausgebildet wurden. Daneben sammelten Sie Erfahrungen in Kalaripayattu unter Sri. Shaji K. John.
Sowohl Viraja und Shyam sind seit vielen Jahren Teilzeitlehrer an ihrer Alma Mater. Shyam war auch Tanzlehrer an der Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society und hat bei deren Programmen eine große Rolle gespielt.
