Hon'ble President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee confers the first ever Indologist Award on Prof. Heinrich Freiherr Von Stietencron.

The first International Conference on Indology was held successfully from 21 to 23 November, 2015 in New Delhi, India. The Hon'ble President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee underlined the significance of the need to encourage and promote Indology studies, both in India and abroad. The first ever Indologist Award was conferred by the President on November 21, 2015 on Prof. Heinrich Freiherr von Stietencron, a German scholar who has devoted his life to Indology, including undertaking several field visits to Orissa. He has given away the award money for developmental work in Orrisa. We deeply appreciate the contribution of the learned scholar to Indology and extend our heartfelt thanks for his noble act.
