Madhuri Chattophadyay from Kolkata received first vocal music lessons from her father Sri Subodh Kumar Chatterjee and became later a disciple of violin-maestro Pandit VG Jog, who guided her until his death in 2004. Also other gurus such as Ustad Vilayet Khan, Ustad Karamatullah Khan, Ustad Alla Rakha Khan, Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri, Pandit Swapan Chowdhury und Begam Parvin Sultana thaught her.Professor Sisirkana Dhar Chowdhury guided her during her studies at the Rabindra Bharati University, where she completed her Master Degree in Musiciology. To that point of time she has also been initiated into rhythmical music by Pandit Swapan Chowdhuri.
In 1982, Madhuri moved to Berlin, where she teaches Indian classical vocal and instrumental music in various cultural institutions till today. Furthermore she has given concerts throughout Europe. Since 2001 Madhuri receives new impulses from Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and she is deeply involved in broadening her musical spectrum by performing with Jazz musicians in Berlin.

Farhan Sabbagh, born in Syria, is one of the few living Oud virtuoso. He is also a composer and a master of Arabic percussion, who studied music and composition in Damascus and Cairo. In 1981, he was invited by the International Institute for Traditional Music (UN) to present the Arabic music in Europe. Since then, he lives in Berlin, wher he participated in numerous projects with international musicians and founded several ensembles. He can look back to numerous concert tours around the globe and has published many LP’s and CD’s.

Amit Chatterjee is a highly gifted Tabla player from India. His Guru was the internationally reputed Tabla Maestro, Pandit Sankha Chatterjee. He adopted Amit as his son and started imparting rigorous training in typical Indian Style of Guru Shishya Parampara. Amit is one of those rare tabla players who have been fortunate enough to acquire the intricacies and subtleties of both Farukhabad and Punjab Gharana.

Madhuri Chattopadhyay aus Kalkutta erhielt ihren ersten Gesangsunterricht von ihrem Vater Sri Subodh Kumar Chatterjee. Später begann sie mit Violinen-Unterricht bei dem Virtuosen Pandit VG Jog. Dieser begleitete sie bis zu seinem Tod im Jahr 2004. Auch andere Virtuosen wie z.B. Ustad Vilayet Khan, Ustad Karamatullah Khan, Ustad Alla Rakha Khan, Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri, Pandit Swapan Chowdhury und Begam Parvin Sultana haben sie schon unterrichtet. Ihr Diplom im Fach Musikwissenschaften erhielt sie unter der Leitung von Frau Prof. Sisirkana Dhar Chowdhury an der Rabindra Bharati Universität in Kalkutta. Zu dieser Zeit begann der Tabla-Virtuose Pandit Swapan Chowdhuri, Madhuri in den rhythmischen Aspekten der indischen Musik zu unterrichten.
1982 zog Madhuri nach Berlin, wo sie bis heute an verschiedenen kulturellen Instituten klassischen Indischen Gesang sowie Instrumentalmusik unterrichtet sowie Konzerte in Europa gibt. Seit 2001 erhät Madhuri neue Impulse von Ustad Ali Akbar Khan und sie ist in verschiedene Fusion-Music-Projekte mit Berliner Jazz-Musikern involviert.

Der in Syrien geborene Farhan Sabbagh gehört zu den wenigen lebenden Ud-Virtuosen. Außerdem ist er Komponist und ein Meister arabischer Perkussion. Bei seinem Vater und Großonkel, später in Damaskus und Kairo, studierte er Musik und Komposition. 1981 wurde er vom Internationalen Institut für traditionelle Musik (UNO) eingeladen, die arabische Musik in Europa zu präsentieren. Seitdem lebt er in Berlin, wirkte an vielfältigen Projekten mit internationalen Musikern mit und gründete mehrere Ensembles. Berufsmusiker bilden sich gezielt bei ihm weiter. Er blickt auf viele Konzertreisen weltweit und zahlreiche internationale LPs und CDs zurück.

Amit Chatterjee ist ein begnadeter Tabla-Spieler aus Indien. Sein Guru war der international renommierte Tabla Maestro Pandit Sankha Chatterjee. Er adoptierte Amit als seinen Sohn und begann eine strenge Ausbildung in typisch indischem Guru-Shishya Parampara Stil. Amit ist einer jener seltenen Tabla-Spieler, die die Feinheiten und Subtilitäten der Farukhabad und der Punjab Gharana (Schule) erworben haben.
