Prosenjit Sengupta completed rigorous training with strict discipline with Ustad Dhyanesh Khan and later under Ustad Aashish Khan of Maihar Seniya Gharana. He later received special training from Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Prosenjit truly reflects the essence of the gharana (school).
He graduated from Calcutta University with Bachelors degree in Science, where after he joined Rabindra Bharati University to completing Masters in Instrumental Music. Prosenjit keeps travelling through India, Europe and Asia for concerts.
Sri S. Sekhar was born in a music-loving family in Kolkata. He started learning Mridangam at the age of 6 and underwent extensive training under Late Respected Sri L. V. Vaidyanathan, the then foremost Mridangam player of Kolkata. He has trained a number of students for Mridangam, many of whom are performing regularly. His influence has been such that even many tabla players have found it extremely useful to train under him. He is known for his keen musicianship in North-South Jugalbandis as well as Indo-Western Concerts. He is performing for the last 48 years and is an “A” grade artiste of All India Radio and Dooradarshan for the last 28 years. A disciple of great Tabla maestro Pandit Shankar Ghosh, Subrata Manna took initial training from late Sri Sunil Bhattacharya of Benaras gharana. He received training in the Carnatic tala (rhythm) system under the guidance of Pandit S.Sekhar. Subrata is an M.A in Percussion music from Rabindra Bhararti University, Kolkata. He is an ‘A’ grade artist of All Radio and Television.
