Malini Awasthi

An evening of Indian folk music. Malini Awasthi shines a light on different strands of the secular culture that continues to live on through its music

Smt. Malini Awasthi is an Indian folk singer. She sings in Hindi language dialects like Awadhi, Bundelkhandi and Bhojpuri. She also presents in Thumri and Kajri. The Government of India awarded her the civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 2016. Smt. Awasthi was born in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. She is a student of Legendary Hindustani Classical Singer, Vidhushi Girija Devi ji of Banaras. Smt. Awasthi is a regular performer at popular classical music festival, Jahan-e-Khusrau. She has a high pitch voice and is popular for rendition of thumari, Thaare Raho Baanke Shyam. She is a popular A grade artist of All India Radio, an ICCR artist she has travelled US, England, Fiji, Mauritius and Holland. She performed at Kumbh Mela 2013 and sang "Sunder Susheel" in the 2015 film Dum Laga Ke Haisha.

Frau Malini Awasthi ist eine indische Folksängerin. Sie singt in Hindi-Dialekten wie Awadhi, Bundelkhandi und Bhojpuri. Sie präsentiert auch Thumri und Kajri. Die indische Regierung verlieh ihr 2016 die zivile Ehre der Padma Shri. Frau Awasthi wurde in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, geboren. Sie ist Schülerin der legendären klassischen Hindustani-Sängerin Vidhushi Girija Devi ji von Banaras. Frau Awasthi tritt regelmäßig beim beliebten klassischen Musikfestival Jahan-e-Khusrau auf. Sie hat eine hohe Stimme und ist beliebt für die Wiedergabe von Thumri, Thaare Raho Baanke Shyam. Sie ist eine A-Grade-Künstlerin von All India Radio, eine ICCR-Künstlerin und hat in den USA, England, Fidschi, Mauritius und Holland Konzerte gegeben. Sie trat bei der Kumbha Mela 2013 auf und sang "Sunder Susheel" im Film Dum Laga Ke Haisha von 2015.
