Updated guidelines for consular and visa services in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and instructions of the German Federal Government are placed below:

• Applicants for consular, and OCI Miscellaneous services, who are residing in the consular jurisdiction of the Embassy of India, Berlin comprising Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt and Thüringen may send their applications for the required service by post to the Embassy. Documentary requirements and fee (payable through bank transfer) for the various services may be checked on the website of the Embassy at https://indianembassyberlin.gov.in/  
• Applicants for OCI must ensure that prior to application, they have completed the process for surrender of Indian passport and obtained due certificate.

Guidelines for Applying Visa Services

• Applicants for visa services, who are residing in the consular jurisdiction of the Embassy of India, Berlin comprising Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt and Thüringen may send their applications for the required service by post to our authorized outsourced agency (IVS Global Services). Documentary requirements and fee (payable through bank transfer) for the various services may be checked on the website of IVS Global Services at http://ivs-germany.in/.
• As regards visa services, the categories allowed for travel to India may be seen at the link: https://boi.gov.in/content/advisory-travel-and-visa-restrictions-related-covid-19-1 . Applicants may note that visas are being issued for essential travel only. They may fill in applications online for  visa at the link https:// http://ivsgermany.in/AdditionalForms.aspx and post hard copies of the application, photo, passport, supporting documents, receipt of payment of visa fee and self addressed envelope with affixed 4.25 euro postal stamp to IVS Global Services, Turken Strasse 25a, 13349 Berlin.
• Former Indian nationals must have obtained the surrender certificate for Indian passport before applying for visa. A copy of surrender certificate is mandatory along with application.
